Alone doesn’t have to mean lonely
Yet, at night,
the absence is palpable
Maybe another sip of wine

In response to Harper Thorpe’s prompt “alone” and in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.
This is dedicated to all those who have lost spouses, children, family and are now struggling to reinvent themselves and their lives.

besliter “Buddy”

I’m in a codependent relationship.
He’s a control freak.
He calls. I see what he wants.
He expects treats. I give them.
Magnanimously, he cuddles with me,
……I’m hooked.

Thanks to our hosts, Kathy Jacobs and Harper Thorpe, and the rest of the talented Chalkboard team!

My Spirit
rises and falls
Riding the waves
’til it rests
in this place
of now

in peace, in love,
in freedom.

Thanks to the Chalkboard people who keep this going: Harper Thorpe, Kathy Jacobs and anyone else who supports this by reading, writing or doing support.
